On 6 June three Be-103 small amphibian aircraft started the ferry flight from Komsomolsk-on-Amur to Saint-Petersburg.

The Be-103 aircraft was developed by Beriev Aircraft Company. The aircraft is serially manufactured by KnAAPO located in Komsomolsk-on-Amur.

The aircraft are flown by test pilots V. Guber, A. Polunenko (KnAAPO) and V. Fortushnov (Beriev Aircraft Company).

The route is over 8000 kilometers long. The aircraft will make 16 landings including on unpaved runways. In the different stages of flight, the Be-103 aircraft are accompanied by a Mi-8 helicopter and An-12 aircraft.

Initially, the aircraft are flying the ALSIB (Alaska-Siberia) route, which during the Second World War was used for ferry of lend-lease aircraft from the USA to the Soviet Union.

In the city of Yaroslavl, the three aircraft will split: one Be-103 will fly to Tagarog, and the other two will fly to Saint-Petersburg to participate in the Second International Naval Show IMDS-2005.

By now, the aircraft have covered the following route: Dzyomgi (Komsomolsk-on-Amur) - Khabarovsk - Blagoveschensk - Zeya - Chulman - Olyokminsk - Lensk.

The ferry flight is going on. The aircraft are now flying the segment Lensk - Kirensk - Bratsk.
