Dear sirs ! From January 30 to February 19, 2004 the certification tests of the Be-200ES multipurpose amphibious aircraft in the conditions of low temperature of the outer air were carried out in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The tests were held in Yakutsk city at the temperature of the outer air equal to -36oC, -42oC, -47oC and -52oC. The tempreture at the cockpit under the temperature of the outer air of -52oC went down to -41oC. For each temperature mentioned above the times requiered to put aircraft systems in the flight operatinal conditions were defined. The aircraft was piloted by test-pilots of the BERIEV Aircraft Company - N.P. Kuleshov and K.P. Parkhomenko, as well as by the expert-pilot A.I. Kostyuk. Sum total 12 flights were performed in the frameworks of the test program. All tasks put by the test program were carried out successfully. During tests the Be-200ES amphibious aircraft has been seen by the President of the Republica of Sakha (Yakutia) V.A. Shtyriov. According to estimations of experts from the certification centers GosNII GA and LII named after M.M. Gromov, which took a direct part in tests, the Be-200ES can be allowed to operate in the conditions of the extrimely low temperature. The necessary notes are to be included in the type certificate data shift of the aircraft.
