Dear sirs ! On October 24, 2003 at the Marseille-Marigniane airfild, the flight demonstration of the Be-200 amphibious aircraft to the specialists of State Defense of French Service of Civil Defense under the ministry of Interior took place. The Be-200 multipurpose amphibious aircraft of new generation was developed by BERIEV Aircraft Company, and is produced serially in Irkutsk. The delegation of BERIEV was headed by Director General V.A. Kobzev. During demo flights the French side evaluated the possibilities of the Be-200 to perform fire fighting tasks, water dropping system, stability, controllability and thrust-to-weight ratio of the aircraft. During flights in adverse weather conditions, the amphibious aircraft was piloted by mixed crew of test-pilots of BERIEV and French pilots. It was not for the first time that the French specialists examined the Be-200. In May, 2002 the Taganrog amphibian already was at Marseille-Marigniane Airdrome, and in this spring the representatives of State Defense Service of French Ministry of Interior headed by Commander of Mariniane aviation base Michelle Rosere visited BERIEV Aircraft Company. The Be-200 multipurpose amphibious aircraft is expected to take part in the tender of French Ministry of Internal Affair intended for purchase of new fire fighting aircraft. Thr basic fire fighting variant of the Be-200 has already been certified according to Russian airworthiness regulations, and has got the type certificate handed by Air Register on August 15, 2001. Works are under on the Be-200 variant equipped with the BR-715 engines of Rolls-Royce Deutschland, which gives the opportunity for the aircraft to be certified abroad.
