Dear sirs ! From August 19 to 24, 2003 the town of Zhukovsky hosted the 6th International Aerospace Show "MAKS-2003" took place, where BERIEV Aircraft Company demonctrated its Be-200ES multipurpose amphibious aircraft and Be-103 light amphibious aircraft. At the exhibition's opening day, the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin during his visit to "MAKS-2003" saw the Be-200ES amphibian. The Russian Emergency Minister S.K. Shoygu with the Director General of BERIEV Aircraft Company V.V. Boev told the President about the aircraft. A vivid conversation took place, and the President promised to give support in the solution of problems of the creation of promising specimens of aircraft. At Aerospace Show in Zhukovsky, the delegation of BERIEV Aircraft Company could present its achievements as well as to carry out a number of meeting with officials, specialists of aviation industry and journalists. At the second day of the exhibition NPK "IRKUT" and BERIEV Aircraft Company held the join presentation. During the exhibition, negotiations were held with EADS about further steps of promoting the Be-200 amphibious aircraft to the world aviation market. The official delegations of China, Republic of Korea and Republic of Vietnam were familiarized with the Be-200 amphibian and its capabilities. BERIEV Aircraft Company, Research and Production Corporation "Irkut" and with Research and Production Association "Vega" held joint negotiations with Malaysian delegation about the possibility of creation of a special variant of the Be-200 for Malaysia. A conference on certification of the D-436TP engine was carried out at the stand of Zaporozhie Engine Design Bureau "Progress" with the participation of specialists of BEREIV Aircraft Company. In the course of negotiations between the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations and representatives of their Italian counterparts, the parties agreed to demonstrate of the Be-200ES amphibious aircraft in Italy. The demonstration took place at the Sardinia Island during the working visit of the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin to Italy. A number of negotiations with representatives of Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Production Association have been held, where questions of engineering support, marketing, sale, after-sale service of the Be-103 light amphibious aircraft have been discussed. Besides, the possibilities of using the Be-103 amphibian as the airtaxi in Kaliningrad region as well as questions of equipping the Be-103 with automatic pilot of Russian production were discussed at the meetings. At the exhibition, the prospects of promoting the project of the Be-32K commuter aircraft were examined, particularly the possibility of cooperation in the aircraft production with Smolensk aviation plant and questions of equipping the Be-32 with the new TVD-20 engines.
