Dear sirs ! From July 29 to August 4, 2003 the "Air Venture 2003" Experimental Aviation Exhibition was organized by EAA in the town of Oshkosh (Wisk., USA). Among the exhibits, the Russian Be-103 light amphibious aircraft was demonstrated. The Be-103 amphibious aircraft developed by BERIEV Aircraft Company and manufactured serialy by Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Production Association can be used for passenger and cargo transportation, forest area, marine frontiers and economic area patrol, on-the-spot monitoring of ecological situation of water, aerial photography, urgent medical aid, urgent small-size cargo delivery. On July 31, 2003 during official presentation of the amphibian the co-chairman of regulations and certification of EAA N. Sabatiny handed to the developer the type certificate of normal category according to FAR-23 American regulations for the Be-103 amphibious aircraft. Obtaining of the type certificate of FAA gives the oppotunity to start selling the Be-103 on the market of the aviation technics of the similiar class aircraft in the USA and Canada. The first three serial aircraft manufactured for this purpose in Komsomolsk-on-Amur have already been delivered to the USA.
