BERIEV Aircraft Company traditionally continues works on amphibious aircraft:
BERIEV is now working on several promising projects, the main of which is the creation of
the Be-200 multipurpose amphibious aircraft.
The amphibian can solve the largest range of tasks. The basic modification of the
Be-200 is intended for forest fire fighting from the air using water or fire extinguishing
apents. The development of passenger, cargo, patrol and other special variants is
possible on the basic of the Be-200 aircraft.
The contract with the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations for the delivery of
seven aircraft in the Be-200ES variant is under way. Works on the certification of the
Be-200ES are being carried out now. The serial manufacturing of the Be-200ES is conducted
by IRKUT Scientific and Production Corporation. On June 17 the first serial aircraft
airborne. One more aircraft is planned to be delivered to the aviation of the Russian
Ministry for Emergency Situations untill the end of this year. The rest of the Be-200ES
aircraft will be delivered to the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situation untill the end
of 2005. Flight and technical personnel of the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations
headed by the chief of the aviation department of the Russian Ministry for Emergency
Situation R.S. Zakirov were trained at the aviation training center of hydroaviation at
BERIEV Aircraft Company.
The basic fire fighting variant of the Be-200 has already been certified according to
the Russian airworthiness regulations and has got the type certificate. On June 20 the
Be-200ES too obtained the type certificate of restricted category. The certification tests
are currently under way.
There is a great interest for the Be-200 in foreign countries. In 2002 the Be-200
amphibious aircraft took part at the international aviation exhibitions (ILA-2002 and
Cidroaviasalon-2002), and demonstrated successfully its capacities to potential customers
in France and Greece. The meetings were held with representatives of air companies, who
paid a great interest to fire fighting variant as well as to passenger variant of the
Be-200 aircraft. The project of the Be-200 amphibious aircraft of BERIEV Aircraft Company
has been reviewed in the field marketing, economical feasibility and its possible
certification abroad by the groups of the specialists of European concern EADS.
One more project of BERIEV Aircraft Company is the Be-103 new generation light
amphibious aircraft with pessenger capacity of five persons. A number of modifications
which can be used in the interests of different state services are expected on the basic
of this aircraft. The aircraft can be used for passenger and cargo transportation, forest
area, marine frontiers and economic area patrol, on-the-spot monitoring of ecological
situation of water, aerial photography, urgent medical aid, urgent small-size cargo
delivery. The amphibian has got the type certificate and is manufactured serially by
Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Production Association. Three Be-103 amphibious aircraft are
being built for the delivery to the first customer in the USA.
The improvement of the world's biggest jet amphibious aircraft, A-40 "Albatross",
does not stop. The improved search-and-rescue variant ahs been developed on its basic.
The export variant of "Albatross" - the A-42PE patrol and search-and-rescue aircraft -
has been developed for foreign customers.
Besides, BERIEV Aircraft Company works on ground based aircraft. The Be-32K commuter
aircraft went through all kinds of tests and is almost ready for serial manufacturing.
As compared with western equivalents, our aircraft has advantage in price with at least
the same performance.
Within the scope of government program "Naukovograd Dubna" BERIEV Aircraft Company and
JSC "Dubna Machinebuilding Factory" concluded the agreement about the mastering of the
production of the Be-32K aircraft in Dubna.
An important field of BERIEV's activity is works on AEW&C and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle.
BERIEV Aircraft Company is one of organizers of international exhibitions and
scientific conferences on hydroaviation in Gelendzhik - the only air show in the world
where the aircraft can be shown in the air, on ground and on water. Four such exhibitions
and scientific conferences raised much interest and attention of specialists involved in
the aviation industry and air transport, to the hydroaviation and prospectss of its
development. The next, fifth, jubilee "Gidroaviasalon-2004" will take place from September
2 to 5, 2004 at the Black Sea coast in the town of Gelendzhik at the territory of test
base of BERIEV Aircraft Company and town airport.
