PRESS RELEASE №59 dt. February 27, 2003. Registration of new world records of the Be-200 amphibious aircraft by the Federation Aeronautique International.

Federation Aeronautique Internationale has officially registered new world records of the time to climb without load and with payload at C class, C-2 and C-3 subclasses, set by the Be-200 amphibious aircraft in September 2002 during the 4th International exhibition and scientific conference on hydroaviation "Gidroaviasalon-2002".

Record flights were performed on September 6 and 7, 2002.

On 6th of September, at C-2 subclass (seaplanes), pilot crew with the captain - test-pilot K.V. Babich, co-pilot - deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Air Force for armament D.M. Morozov, navigator - test-navigator M.G. Andreev, flight engineer - leading test engineer S.A. Gundich set the following records:

Time to climb to 3000 m without load is 3 min 38.5 s;

Time to climb to 3000 m with payload 1000 kg is 3 min 38.5 s;

Time to climb to 3000 m with payload 2000 kg is 3 min 38.5 s;

Time to climb to 6000 m without load is 7 min 54.2 s;

Time to climb to 6000 m with payload 1000 kg is 7 min 54.2 s;

Time to climb to 6000 m with payload 2000 kg is 7 min 54.2 s;

Time to climb to 9000 m without load is 17 min 29.3 s;

Time to climb to 9000 m with payload 1000 kg is 17 min 29.3 s;

Time to climb to 9000 m with payload 2000 kg is 17 min 29.3 s.

Take-off and landing have been performed on water in the Gelendzhik bay.

On September 7, at C-3 subclass (seaplanes), pilot crew with the captain - test-pilot N.P. Kuleshov, co-pilot - N.N. Okhotnikov, navigator - test-navigator Y.N. Gerasimov, flight engineer - leading test engineer G.S. Kalujnyi set the following records:

Time to climb to 3000 m without load is 3 min 34,8 s;

Time to climb to 3000 m with payload 1000 kg is 3 min 34.8 s;

Time to climb to 3000 m with payload 2000 kg is 3 min 34.8 s;

Time to climb to 6000 m without load is 7 min 39.2 s;

Time to climb to 6000 m with payload 1000 kg is 7 min 39.2 s;

Time to climb to 6000 m with payload 2000 kg is 7 min 39.2 s;

Time to climb to 9000 m without load is 17 min 07.7 s;

Time to climb to 9000 m with payload 1000 kg is 17 min 07.7 s;

Time to climb to 9000 m with payload 2000 kg is 17 min 07.7 s.

The take-off has been performed from the water in the Gelendzhik bay, the landing - at airport "Vityazevo" (Anapa).

All the achievements have been registered by the chairman of the sport aviation committee of the Russian Sport Aviation Federation T.A. Polozova.

Sum total in 2000 and 2002 years the Be-200 amphibious aircraft set 24 world records officially registered by the FAI.
