PRESS RELEASE No.58 dt. 12th February 2003. Results of the competition for the best personal names for the Be-103 and the Be-200 amphibious aircraft.

From October 9 till October 15, 2001, in Malaysia, on the island Langkavy the International Marine and Aerospace Exhibition LIMA'01 took place. 72 aerospace companies and 126 firms, working in the field of military shipbuilding and naval armament from 22 countries of the world participated in this exhibition.

The high level of the exhibition is determined by the great interest of government and business circles of countries of the Asian-Pacific region and of leading aerospace corporations and companies of the countries of Europe, the USA and South Africa.

The choice of this particular LIMA'01 for the presentation of the Be-200 amphibious aircraft wasn't made by chance. This exhibition is the best way to demonstrate the potential of the Be-200, because its infrastructure was created for showing both aerospace techniques and battle ships.

During the visit of Prime Minister of Malaysia M. Makhamed to the maritime part of the exhibition the Be-200 demonstrated successfully the water scooping during hydroplaning with subsequent dropping of water near the ships, which took part in the exhibition. The Home Secretary of Malaysia, which authorities include the questions of forest fire protection, paid a special attention to the exposition of BERIEV Aircraft Company and our new amphibian.

As for the prospects of using the Be-200 in various modifications - firefighting, patrol-and-rescue, passenger transportation - officials and delegations from Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand showed their business interest.
