PRESS RELEASE No.58 dt. 12th February 2003. Results of the competition for the best personal names for the Be-103 and the Be-200 amphibious aircraft.

BERIEV Aircraft Company traditionally continues work on amphibious aircraft:

- Certification tests of the Be-200 multipurpose amphibious aircraft have been successfully accomplished and it's got the Type Certificate of strict category. And now the Be-200 turned from an experimental-design prototype to a real and competitive product, capable to fill up a yet unoccupied niche at the aviation market.

This amphibious aircraft has been developed at BERIEV Aircraft Company and is serially manufactured at Irkutsk Aviation Industrial Association. The main purpose of the aircraft is forest fire fighting. Aircraft can also perform passenger and cargo transportations.

The Be-200 was successfully demonstrated at international exhibitions Le Bourget (France), MAKS'99 (Russia, Zhukovskyi) and "Gidroaviasalon-2000" (Russia, Gelendzhik), where in demo flights it dropped water on conventional forest fire. The contract about delivery of seven Be-200 amphibians was signed with Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations.

The works on the A-40 amphibious aircraft continue on. The aircraft set 144 world records. Four new records were set during the third International Exhibition on hydroaviation "Gidroaviasalon-2000". The construction of the Be-42 search-and-rescue aircraft, a modification of the A-40, is carried out in Taganrog. The export version of "Albatros" - the A-40 - was developed for foreign customers.

- On July 15, 1997 in Taganrog the Be-103 light amphibious aircraft performed its first flight from land. Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Industrial Association put out experimental aircraft and is going to produce this aircraft serially. Five flight prototypes of the Be-103 and two airframes of this aircraft for ground-based static and life tests (which are carrying out in Taganrog) are manufactured. The aircraft was demonstrated at exhibitions "Gelendzhik'96", "Gelendzhik'98", "AERO-99" in Friederichshafen (Germany), "Gidroaviasalon-2000" and "AERO-2001" in Friederichshafen. In the scope of the certification tests, more than 250 flights were performed by the Be-103 aircraft. The getting of the Type Certificate is planned in 2001 year.

- The Be-12P and the Be-12P-200 amphibians, reequipped at BERIEV Aircraft Company, continue work on forest fire fighting. We are ready to put aircraft for forest fire fighting at your disposal on request both of any region of Russia and any country of the world.

Besides amphibians, BERIEV Aircraft Company continues work on land-based aircraft:

- The works on modernization of the A-50 early-warning aircraft are going on.

- Withing the air show in Le Bourget, IAIA, BERIEV Aircraft Company, Klimov Design Bureau (Saint-Petersburg) and JSC "Motor-Sich" (Zaporozhie) signed a joint memorandum about designing and manufacturing of the Be-132MK regional airliner, equipped with the ВК1500П engines. The aircraft was developed by BERIEV Aircraft Company, the engines will be developed and supplied by Klimov Design Bureau and JSC "Motor-Sich", serial manufacturing is planned to be performed at IAIA and JSC "TAVIA" (Taganrog).
