On the 24th of December, 2007, Director General of Beriev Aircraft Company and JSC "TAVIA" Mr. V.À. Kobzev, Mayor of Taganrog Mr. N.D. Fedyanin, Chairman of Taganrog Municipal Council Mr. U.V. Stephanov attended the solemn ceremony dedicated to the hand-over of Òu 142ÌR aircraft named "Taganrog" to a Navy Aviation crew of the Red Banner Northern Fleet.
The honorary name to Òu-142ÌR aircraft, that underwent a scheduled repair at the facilities of JSC "TAVIA", was given by the Northern Fleet Air Force Command, based on the application of Director General of Beriev Aircraft Company and JSC "TAVIA", Taganrog Administration and Mayer and the Chairman of Taganrog Municipal Council.
As per the order of the Red Banner Northern Fleet Military Unit Commander dated 05.12.2007, the honorary name of "Taganrog" was given to Òu-142ÌR aircraft, side number "15".
At the repair facilities the appropriate symbols were drawn on the aircraft side (city arms and "TAGANROG" name).
On the 26th of December Tu-142ÌR aircraft named "Taganrog" made a successful ferry flight to its permanent base.
