A new AEW (EI) aircraft took off on its maiden flight on November 29th, 2007 in Taganrog. During the test flight the aircraft behavior under all conditions fully complied with the designed ones.
The AEW (EI) aircraft has been designed for a foreign customer under the contract with Federal State Unitary Enterprise "ROSOBORONEXPORT".
The contract is being performed in co-operation with the Russian and foreign companies and firms. BERIEV Aircraft Company is a prime contractor for the works performance on the aircraft, aircraft re-engining with new PS 90À 76 engines and aircraft fitting with new equipment.
In course of works performance on the aircraft a large number of scientific issues dealing with aircraft aerodynamics, electronic equipment and power plant operation have been solved successfully.
Currently BERIEV Aircraft Company continues the works under the contract.
