An air company operating civil seaplanes has been established and certificated within Beriev Aircraft Company. This is the only air company in Russia specializing in operations of civil seaplanes. Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation issued the Operator Certificate №487 dated 10 April 2006. According to this Certificate, Beriev Aircraft Company complies with the applicable requirements of the Russian legislature and the provisions of Chicago Convention on international civil aviation, and can perform commercial air transport operations and other aerial activities on the Be-103 amphibian aircraft. This was preceded by a visit, to Beriev Aircraft Company, of the South Operator Certification Center committee chaired by Mr. V.P. Pershin, Director of Center. The inspection committee familiarized itself with the air company infrastructure and performed an inspection flight in the Be-103 amphibian aircraft. The air company further expects to perform air transportations of passengers, tour flights, air surveillance of the water reservoirs located in the South Federal region, and practical promotion of Be-103 amphibians to the other regions of Russia. Extensive activities are under way to include two Be-200 amphibian aircraft owned by Beriev Aircraft Company into the Operator Certificate and into the Civil Aircraft Register. K.V.
